Pamlico Sound Red Drum Fishing


Season:

If Red Drum turn you on, then the Pamlico Sound giant red drum catch and release fishery is what you need to experience.  The best fishing is from mid-August to early October, and these fish are big.  Many of these ocean-going drum enter the Pamlico Sound during this time of year to spawn.  They range in size from 20 to 60 pounds.

Red Drum Fishing Cost and Deposit Policy:

The cost for regular and drift boat trips is $550 for a full day  (6am – 4pm) and $400 for long half days (6am – noon, 2pm – 8pm).  To confirm bookings, a 50% deposit is required within 7 days of booking the trip.  Advanced bookings are encouraged because we get full.  Trips booked within 2 weeks of the date of the trip must be paid in full to secure the reservation.  Deposits are non-refundable but can be used as a credit for a rescheduled trip if canceled greater than 21 days before the trip.  We offer 100% refunds for weather cancellations.  Please call Capt. Guides:

Our experienced captains are USGS licensed and are professional and courteous.

Boats:

We have a large, comfortable 24 foot May Craft center console that we use for our drum fishing trips which comfortably fishes up to 4 people.

Tackle:

We provide 15-25 pound medium-heavy action spinning tackle.

License:

All of our boats have blanket licenses.  You are not required to purchase a fishing license.  Just bring yourself.

What to Bring:

You should bring a cooler iced with drinks and sandwiches, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and rain-gear.
