Habitat Restoration
Many programs using federal and state resources are in place to provide cost-sharing opportunities (up to 90%) and tax incentives for habitat restoration on lands which are currently being used for agriculture or timber management. There are so many options that landowner typically need us to provide expertise as to which programs are appropriate and where. We can dissect your available land to maximize these opportunities. One of the major programs, the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) is a cost-share and rental payment program under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and is administered by the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA). Technical assistance for CRP is provided by the USDA Forest Service and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service(NRCS). NRCS's natural resources conservation programs help people reduce soil erosion, enhance water supplies, improve water quality, increase wildlife habitat, and reduce damages caused by floods and other natural disasters. The CRP program encourages farmers to convert highly erodible cropland or other environmentally sensitive acreage to vegetative cover, such as tame or native grasses, wildlife plantings, trees, filter strips, or riparian buffers. Below is a table which provides an outline a description of each CRP program that is available to you. Follow the link below under NC Landowner Assistance Programs for additional programs:
